Recently, we have been learning how to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word in order to display research in APA format. The purpose of this research was to find if gender or student classification played a role in grades.
With Microsoft Excel, I have created 2 pie charts to illustrate the percentage of non-traditional students versus traditional students, and males versus females. We also learned how to sort and use formulas within the program. This basically makes it easier and provides less manual work.
In Microsoft Word, we are presenting quantitative data in APA report fromat. We have learned how to create tables for displaying this information.

Google Docs
I created a diagram (using google docs) that shows where you can store your work. As an elementary teacher, I could use these storage techniques for grades, lesson plans, etc.
This activity applies to ISTE NETS 3.d: model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning. It encourages the innovative sharing, analyzing, evaluating, and use of information.

Snipping Tool
I learned how to use the Snipping Tool. The Snipping Tool allows us to crop an image on our computer screen. Thus, we can be more selective than with the Screen Capture tool.

1. I typed a resume on Google Documents and published it to the web.
